Sadaqatul Fitr (also known as Fitrah, Sadaqat-ul-Fitr, Fitranah, or Zakat al-Fitr) is a compulsory Islamic charity given at the end of Ramadan to purify the fast and help the poor celebrate Eid al-Fitr.
This amount is a minimum of $20 per person. You can pay this to the Islamic Forum of Canada.
Payment Timing
It becomes due from sunset on the last day of Ramadan and must be given before Eid prayer the next morning. You can pay Sadaqatul Fitr anytime earlier during Ramadan, and it is recommended to do so to ensure timely distribution to the needy before Eid.
